UPDATED: Two New Faces Elected to Henlopen Acres Council


UPDATED – 08/31/25 – There will be 2 new faces on the Henlopen Acres Town Council. Challengers Lee Raesly and Alex Jacobs were the top vote-getters for the two open seats on the Council. Raesly received 164 votes, Alex Jacobs won 101 votes and incumbent Jeffrey Jacobs got 99 votes at Saturday’s election.

Raesly and Alex Jacobs will be sworn in and the council reorganized at the September 12th meeting.

ORIGINAL STORY – 07/14/25 – Voters in Henlopen Acres will be headed to the polls at the end of August to elect 2 to the Town’s Board of Commissioners. Incumbent Jeffrey Jacobs (resident) is challenged by Lee Raesly (resident) and Alex Jacobs (non-resident). According to the Town Charter, at least 4 of the 7 Commissioners must be residents of the Town, but all may be residents of the Town. The election is set for Saturday, August 30 from 9am to 12pm at Town Hall.

To be eligible to vote – you must register with the Town of Henlopen Acres on or before 4:30pm on July 31st.

Absentee ballot packets will be available on Tuesday, July 15th and completed absentee ballots must be received at Town Hall no later than noon on Saturday, August 30th.
