The new BVSPCA rescue and rehabilitation shelter in Georgetown has opened its doors months earlier than scheduled to help pets left homeless by Hurricane Florence. The shelter has already received 42 dogs rescued from hurricane flooded North Carolina and dozens of cats scheduled to arrive today. Director of BVSPCA, Walter Fenstermacher, says once the dogs and cats are medically evaluated they will be available for adoption.
