Indian River School District Names 2019-20 Teacher of the Year

Arthur Henry, a music educator at Millsboro Middle School has been named the Indian River School District’s Teacher of the Year for the 2019-2020 school year.

The announcement was made at the District’s annual Teacher of the Year celebration on April 30 at Georgetown Middle School. Henry, who has taught at Millsboro Middle since 2015 was chosen out of a pool of 16 candidates, one from each school. The District says he teaches flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion instruments. Millsboro Middle’s Acting Principal Bradford Breasure said “Mr. Henry has shown to be a dependable and conscientious staff member who has integrated himself into the culture at Millsboro Middle.” MMS Assistant Principal Christopher Costello said “He models what we preach for the students, always striving to have his students succeed.”

As the district’s Teacher of the Year, Mr. Henry is now eligible for the statewide Teacher of the Year Award, set to be announced in October.
