Inmate Death at ECI in Westover Under Investigation by MSP

Maryland State Police are investigating the death of an inmate at Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover. Police say 31 year old Quaran Middleton, an inmate at the prison, was declared dead Tuesday by EMS personnel and transported to the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Preliminary investigation indicates Middleton was found on the ground and unresponsive in his cell by officers at ECI. The investigation is ongoing.
