It’s Still Beach Season – Swimmers Should Go Where Lifeguards Remain on Duty

If you’re headed to Delmarva beaches – some are no longer guarded or have guards widely spread out. If there is no lifeguard at the beach where you plan to swim – move to where there is an occupied guard stand. If there are no guards on duty you’re advised to stay out of the water. Remember to keep your feet in the sand until guards are in the stand.

Bethany Beach, the town’s beaches are guarded on weekends through September. Guards are not on duty during the week.
Fenwick Island, guards may work weekends in September depending on weather conditions and staffing.
Lewes – lifeguards will be working weekends at Savannah and Johnnie Walker Beaches through September 27th.
Ocean City lifeguards are working with a smaller staff – spread farther apart, but they remain on duty through Sunday, September 27th.
