Laurel Man Sentenced in Fatal 2022 Wilmington Shooting

Attorney General Kathy Jennings announced Friday that a 27 year old Laurel man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a fatal shooting that occurred in February of 2022 in Wilmington. Wilmington Police arrested Lance Leatherbury of Laurel on July 25, 2023 following an investigation into the shooting of Jermaine Meadows while he sat in his car on Warner Street in Wilmington. Leatherbury was sentenced on Friday after his plea of ‘no contest’ to charges of manslaughter, possession of a firearm and 2nd degree conspiracy.
