Laurel Public Library Introduces “Food for Fines” Donation Program

Hermann-Financial

The Laurel Public Library has a special incentive as it starts a food drive.

Patrons who owe fines or face a charge for a replacement card can reduce the amount by $1.00 for each donation of a canned or boxed non-perishable food item, up to $20.

People who do not owe a fine are also welcome to contribute and help fill Community Food Carts in Laurel.

The “Food for Fines” program will last through the month of November. More information is available from the Laurel Public Library.

Please note that damaged or expired items will not be accepted. Please, no glass containers, open items or non-nutritious items such as candy or chips. Also, please do not bring homemade items.
