Lewes Planning Commission seeks input on downtown marine district

Residents and business owners in Lewes are being asked to take a survey about the city’s downtown Marine Commercial District. The Lewes Planning Commission is reviewing the zoning ordinances and maps as part of its updated 2015 comprehensive plan, and is considering ways to promote and preserve the area surrounding the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal along Savannah road towards Lewes Beach. The survey is available online through February 23rd, and asks respondents to prioritize characteristics necessary to maintain and improve the downtown area, as well as identify threats to its future viability.
