Longtime member of Rehoboth Beach Police Department, Sergeant Benjamin Mitchell is retiring after 30 years on the job. Chief of Police Keith Banks says the sergeant has a tireless commitment to serving the community. In 1989, Mitchell started a police athletic league, which morphed into the Henlopen Hammers Wrestling Club. Mitchell says he has enjoyed the job and friends he’s made, but looks forward to devoting more time to covering and announcing local high school sports games starting next fall.
