Maryland looks to counties to help develop state growth plan

Maryland is asking its counties to help develop a new growth plan.

As part of an exectuive order signed last year by Governor Larry Hogan, the Department of Planning is conducting a series of listening tours in all 24 counties across the state as well as Baltimore City to get ideas from public, local governments and state agencies on what should be included in the plan.

Officials say at the meeting participants will engage with planning staff to figure out how addressing local needs can also contribute to planning across the state.

The Planning Department has scheduled the Caroline County meeting for February 15th in Denton:

Location: Wharves of Choptank Visitor and Heritage Center
3 Crouse Park Lane, Denton

Local Staff: 2:00 pm

Elected Officials and Planning Commissioners: 5:00 pm

Public Meeting: 7:00 pm
