Off-peak Beach Fishing Permits Available This Week

Special surf fishing permits will be available starting this week that will allow more anglers to drive up and fish from state park beaches.

Available surf fishing tags went very quickly several weeks ago. Now, DNREC plans to introduce an off-peak permit that will allow fishing Mondays through Fridays, June 1st through September 3rd. After that, they will be good seven days a week through the end of the year.

Sales will start Tuesday at Delaware State Parks offices. The off-peak permit costs $70 for Delaware residents and $140 for out-of-state residents. Delawareans age 62 and older receive a discounted rate of $60.

Online sales of off-peak permits will be added in future weeks.
