Prominent erosion reported in Bethany after nor’easter

After lucking out during the first few nor’easters of the season, with northwest winds keeping erosion at bay, the coastline took a pounding this time around. Prominent beach erosion is being reported along the coastline, mainly in Bethany Beach.

This week’s storm washed away numerous beach stairs and pummeled the Bethany Shoreline. Town Manager Cliff Graviet telling the News Journal the town was already low on dune protection, and it will be a nail-biting two months as they wait for Army Corps of Engineers to perform beach replenishment in mid-May.
