Structure Fire in Selbyville This Morning Ruled Accidental

An electrical malfunction led to a fire at a home on Mallard Drive in Selbyville this morning around 7:00. The Roxana Fire Company arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure. The person inside was alerted to the fire by working smoke detectors and was able to escape without injury. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene. State fire investigators were called to the scene to investigate and then determined the fire was accidental. There were no reported injuries to persons or firefighters. Damage is estimated at $85,000.
