Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/02/26

Friday, I went sea bass fishing on the Angler out of Ocean City, Maryland. I was up at 0325 but still got to the boat at 0545 because of a personal problem with my equipment at home. Thanks to the help of the mates, I was able to get on board with all my equipment by the 0600-departure time.

Our first stop was at the commercial bass grounds where we were rewarded with instant bites and lots of sea bass. Unfortunately, most of the ones I caught were small. However, one angler on the stern had a 5.9 pounder.

The captain would move and I would catch a keeper here and there but nothing like I expected for the opening day of black sea bass season. Others had better luck and there were some big sea bass brought onboard.
