Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/23/26

Wednesday, we had unsettled weather at the beach. Tuesday night into Wednesday morning we had over 3 inches of rain. Small craft advisories were up all day.

Dan at Dan’s Tackle said the few folks that fished Broadkill Beach on Wednesday caught plenty of croaker and good numbers of spot on bloodworms and Fishbites. The Broadkill River was too muddy for fishing after the heavy rains.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park told us fishing was pretty good for spot and croaker before the afternoon rain ran everyone from the pier.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported bluefish attacked metal lures and bucktails early in the morning. During the day, tog and sheepshead were caught on sand fleas and green crabs. Kings, spot and croaker were taken from the surf.
