Thanks to a tip from a concerned citizen, Ocean City Police have arrested a man wanted on warrants out of Pennsylvania. The tip led Ocean city Police to a downtown hotel on Thursday where they verified that 54 year old Timothy Hayter of Hagerstown was registered at the hotel. Several attempts were made to get Hayter to leave his hotel room – after 4 hours of negotiations, he left the room without incident and he was arrested. Hayter allowed police to enter the hotel room where they located a stolen handgun, 2 loaded magazines and ammunition. He faces multiple weapons and other charges and is being held without bond for both the fugitive warrant and Ocean City charges.

  • Timothy Mark Hayter, 54, Hagerstown, MD: Fugitive Warrant (Pennsylvania), possessed a regulated firearm: stolen/sell, regulated firearm-illegal possession, illegal possession of ammunition, and reckless endangerment. Hayter has been seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and held without bond for both the fugitive warrant and Ocean City charges.
