Just after 12pm Tuesday traffic on Route 9 east of Georgetown came to a standstill. Delaware State Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that a box truck was stopped at a stop sign on southbound Shingle Point Road at Route 9. As the driver made a right turn onto Route 9, the truck struck low-hanging wires and became tangled and was pulled onto just two wheels. The driver was not injured.

Route 9 between Park Avenue and just east of Shingle Point Road was closed for about 5 hours as crews worked to steady the box truck and untangle and reset the utility wires. Route 9 reopened to traffic around 5:20pm.
