Maryland State Police in Somerset County tried to stop a vehicle for traffic violations just after 6 Saturday morning, but the driver took off as a passenger tossed items out of the vehicle.  Troopers learned the vehicle was reported stolen through Salisbury Police.  The driver continued on Route 13 towards Salisbury where stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle stopped on the Salisbury Bypass near Old Ocean City Road.  The driver ran off on foot into a wooded area and after a search using K-9 and aviation, the driver, 40 year old Shaun Oxendine of Salisbury was arrested.  He was wanted on several outstanding warrants and a parole retake warrant.  The passenger, 29 year old Brittney Daye of Parsonsburg was also arrested.  Additional charges are pending.
