Two Die in Early Morning Salisbury House Fire

Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate a fire on Middleneck Drive in Salisbury early Friday morning that claimed two lives. Salisbury firefighters were called to the two story home just after 2am where they found fire through the roof. Two adult victims were found inside and transported to Tidal-Health Peninsula Regional Hospital and later pronounced dead. Investigators believe the victims are the homeowners – an 85 year old husband and 79 year old wife. Investigators determined the fire began in the living room, but the cause remains under investigation. No evidence of arson was found and the focus is on possible accidental causes. No smoke alarms were found in the home. Firefighters from throughout Wicomico County were on the scene for nearly 3 ½ hours.
