WGMD Fishing Report 10-12-19
Gale warnings were up on Friday, but it looks like the wind may begin to drop out a bit over the weekend. I know of at least one boat that will try to fish Delaware Bay on Saturday.
The Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen Annual Surf Fishing Tournament has been cancelled for 2019. The decision was made because of the overwash on the beach would have made it difficult, if not impossible, for people to get on and off during high tide.
I drove down to Lewes Harbour Marina on Friday afternoon and it was easy to see how high the water from Canary Creek flooded New Road during high tide. The marsh overflowed on to Savannah Road between the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and the beach as well.
While at Lewes Harbour Marina I picked up the rules for their upcoming tog tournament. The contest will begin on October 19 and continue until November 17. Entry fees are $30 for the entire tournament or you can pay $5.00 a day before you go fishing. A fees must be paid in cash at Lewes Harbour Marina.
