Monday saw decent weather and fish were caught in the ocean and Delaware Bay.  Tuesday looks good, but from Wednesday until the weekend it’s back to high winds and waves.

Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid had just come in when I called.  He had a boat limit of sea bass and a few bluefish for the Monday Group caught off of ocean structure.  On Sunday, Randy Jenson caught 60 tog with only one keeper using Asian box crabs.

I spoke with Captain Cary Evans on the Grizzly and he said his party wanted to catch tog, but after only putting a few in the box they switched over to sea bass and did much better.  They had a good number of sea bass to take home including one weighing 3.75 and another tipping the scales at 3.25 pounds.  His Sunday party had a trout that weighed over four pounds.

On Sunday Daryl Mergenhaler Jr. caught a citation worthy black sea bass weighing 3.21 pounds on the Katydid.

The Thelma Dale IV ran on Sunday and caught good numbers of sea bass plus one false albacore.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
