WGMD Fishing Report 10-23-19

The weather was bad on Tuesday and it won’t be much better on Wednesday as small craft advisories are already up for today.  Thursday looks promising.

I have to begin this report with some news that is good for the fish, but kinda sad for me.  Captain John Nedelka has sold the Karen Sue.  I have known John since before he bought that boat and remember when he went up to the JC Yard in New England to pick it up.  He brought it down through New York and New Jersey and we all thought that was quite an adventure.  Back in the days when the Indian River Boat Owner’s Association was very active, the Karen Sue would participate in marlin and tuna tournaments as well as fish the inshore waters for big bluefish, sea bass, tog and flounder.  In later years, as the captain aged, the offshore trips became fewer, but the sea bass, bluefish and tog were constant targets.  Since I am just a bit older than the captain, I know why that happened.  Here’s wishing you nothing but the best Captain John.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
