WGMD Fishing Report 10-27-19

Saturday was another good fishing day, but Sunday is not going to be very nice at all.  Small craft advisories are up and may be up for Monday as well.

Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid had another boat limit of sea bass plus a few triggerfish for his Saturday party.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us the Inlet is seeing a few more keeper tog caught on sand fleas and green crabs.  Small blues are scattered along the surf on fresh mullet.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em they weighed in another big swordfish.  This one topped the scales at 200 pounds.  The bottomfishing boats caught a lot of sea bass and a few tog.

Over in Maryland, the Department of Natural Resources has recommended closing all types of striped bass fishing, including catch and release, from April 1 to May 31.  As you might imagine, this is not being welcomed with open arms by recreational fishermen, charter boat captains or tackle shop owners.  Public hearings will be entertaining.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
