WGMD Fishing Report 10-9-19

Tuesday saw small craft advisories up, but not to worry, they are coming down on Wednesday to be replaced by gale warnings that will be up through Friday.  This nasty weather is going to have an impact on the ocean beaches and could cause flooding in low lying parts along the ocean and bay.

I did get a few late reports from the weekend.  The Thelma Dale IV tried to fish on Saturday and ended up in Delaware Bay because the ocean was just too rough.  They finished the day with a few triggerfish before coming in early.  Captain Aaron Herd on the Gale Force fished Indian River Inlet for a half day on Saturday catching flounder, bluefish and short rockfish on live spot.  I also had a report from Monday when one dedicated angler fished from shore at the Inlet and caught short tog and rockfish on sand fleas.

I also saw a few reports from the beach with fishermen using up to 12 ounces of lead to hold bottom.  I have a rule, when the weight of the sinker exceeds the weight of the fish, I call it a day.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
