WGMD Fishing Report 12-9-18

Sunday was cold and miserable, but a few boats decided to try some tog and rockfish.  There results hardly made the effort worthwhile.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said at least two boats tried to run up the New Jersey Coast looking for rockfish.  One came back early due to rough seas and the other didn’t find any action.

Captain Cary Evans on the Grizzly had a good catch of tog on Saturday including five citations to 9.75 pounds.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Chris told us a few boats fished for rockfish, but none reported catching any.  Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sue bucked the trend and did better on Sunday than Saturday.  On Saturday he had one keeper tog per person and on Sunday he managed to find three keepers per client.  He did say it was a rough ride home and the inlet was just a bit sporty.

Small craft advisories are up for Monday so I don’t expect anyone will try to run up to New Jersey for rockfish or very far offshore for tog.  Tuesday and Wednesday look a bit better.
