WGMD Fishing Report 4-20-19

Friday was warm and windy and while no boats left the dock, folks fishing from shore did have a bit of luck.

Clark at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said two ten-pound blues were caught Friday morning out of Indian River Inlet.  Lenny Rudow reported that Big Bird Cropper caught a big bluefish out of Ocean City’s Inlet.  I hope this a good sign for things to come.

Mike at Eastern Marine had a report of a 26-pound rockfish caught at Woodland Beach on a bloodworm.  Mike Adams caught and released a 40-inch rock from the Delaware River.  Fort DuPont has seen a fair number of short rockfish caught on bloodworms.  Dutch Neck Road at the C&D Canal has seen good white perch action on bloodworms, nightcrawlers and salted clams.

Lewes Ice House Bait and Tackle reported that Emma Coapp caught a 17-inch flounder on a shiner from the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park.  Once we get away from all this wind and rain I think we will have flounder in the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and the Broadkill River.
