Saturday was the best fishing weather day of 2018.  The wind died down and the water temperature in the bay near Lewes was 50.6 degrees and it was 47.9 at the Lightship Buoy.

I am very happy to report the first keeper flounder of 2018 was caught at the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park.  Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle said the lucky angler caught the 18-inch flatfish on a minnow.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Pirate King had a group of Boy Scouts on board and they managed to catch several short tog and one keeper.  As far as flounder from the Canal, Amanda did not see any.  The Katydid came in with some tog including three citations.

Clark at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said short rock with a few keepers were caught from the surf on bunker, bloodworms and frozen mullet.  Two blues in the 30-inch range were caught from the beach in the Town of Fenwick Island.

Lauren from Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said the No Limit had a catch of tog including two citations.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
