WGMD Fishing Report 4-26-19

Thursday was a bit less desirable in the weather department than I had hoped for.  I planned to fish the Canal with my old Claymont classmate Doug Elliott and towards that objective spent most of Wednesday afternoon getting my old 16-foot tin boat ready.  I had a few more things to do on Thursday morning and the more time I spent outdoors the less enthused I became about fishing.  Finally, around 1:00 PM I called Doug and cancelled the trip.  It was just too cold and windy, not to mention the spitting rain, for two old guys to fish in an open boat.

I did drive down to the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park where one couple had two medium blues on cut mullet.  Everyone else on the pier was throwing plugs or metal.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid came in with 30 tog, including six citations ranging up to 10.5 pounds.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported that Robert Poole had a nice rockfish from the beach on bloodworms and Patrick Schneider caught a big dog shark on cut bunker on Wednesday.
