WGMD Fishing Report 5-11-18

Thursday was warm, sunny and windy at the beach.  The water temperature at the Lightship Buoy was 54.7 and 58.1 degrees in Lewes.  Both dropped a little.  Seas were running three to four feet, but a couple of boats did get out into the ocean.  Its three to four again on Friday.

The best news came from John at Old Inlet Bait and Tackle.  He reported nine blues to 35 inches caught between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM at Three Rs Road on mullet fished on mullet rigs.  This time frame is the last of the outgoing into the first on the incoming.  A few more big blues were scattered up and down the beach.

At Lewes Harbour Marina, Amanda said a few more flounder were caught out of the Canal.  A private boat had two black drum from the Coral Beds.  They weighed 39 and 34 pounds.  My guess is they were caught on clams.  The Katydid had a catch of tog.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em Dianna told us a few boats fished the ocean and came back in with a few tog.  Big blues are in Indian River Bay

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
