WGMD Fishing Report 6-23-19

Saturday was beautiful with the wind still northwest, but not as strong as on Friday.

Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park told us anglers were catching spot two at a time during high tide, but the bite had slowed as the tide dropped out.  Bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms were the best baits.  A few keeper flounder to 19 inches were also caught from the pier on minnows.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said young Michael Angstadt caught a 19.5-inch flounder out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal on a minnow.  Michael and his family had several short flounder as well.  The Katydid had a mixed bag of trout, triggers and flounder.

Old Inlet said the croaker action along the southside of the inlet was good on incoming water.  Bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms were the top bait.  The surf saw good fishing for kings on the same baits.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em they said a private boat checked in with a nine-pound flounder.  They had no other information on the catch.
