WGMD Fishing Report 6-30-19

bill-o

Jake McGuire of Middletown, DE caught this 50lb blue fin tuna on the Last Call using a pink lure Daisy chain out at Poor Man’s Canyon.

John Engler of Perkiomenville, PA caught this citation 9.1lb 28 inch flounder while fishing out at the Old Grounds using minnows and squid.

Saturday was another summer day with hot temperatures and good fishing.

We received word that Lewes Ice House will be moving their store within the next 60 days.  As soon as we know the new location we will pass the information on to you.

There is a considerable amount of menhaden close to shore all along the beach from Herring Point to Fenwick Island.  All of this bait is going to attract predators such as cobia and king mackerel and, in fact, Old Inlet reported a cobia caught from the beach on Saturday.  In addition, sharks of all sorts and sizes will be attracted to these menhaden.  If you keep away from them, they will stay away from you.

Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said bluefin tuna were caught at Massey’s Canyon and the Hot Dog.  The Captain Bob brought in 29 flounder.

Scott Jost and Suzanne Martin had good numbers of kings at Herring Point.

The phone is out at Dan’s Tackle Box, but we were able to get a report of kings in the surf from their Facebook page.  Lots of spot on the pier again.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
