WGMD Fishing Report 7-26-19

Hermann-Financial

Thursday was about as nice a day as you can expect for late July and Friday is supposed to be just as good.

I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina in the late afternoon where Tommy was cleaning a big pile of bluefish caught on Captain Pete Haines’ boat Top Fin.  Captain Pete told me his party jigged the blues up on bucktails making for a fun-filled day.  Tommy also told me the Pirate King came in with a good catch of kings from Delaware Bay.  They usually fish the Shears with clam and squid.

At Lighthouse View Tackle the report was much better than on Wednesday.  The spot action turned back on at high tide with bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms the best baits.  While keepers were scarce, a good number of short flounder were caught on live minnows worked tight to the pier pilings.

Chris at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said he saw some blues come across the cleaning table that were caught out of Indian River Inlet.

Old Inlet said kings and nice-sized pompano have been caught out of the surf on bloodworms, sand fleas as well as FishBite imitations of both baits.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
