WGMD Fishing Report 7-27-19

Friday was another beautiful day at the beach.  Plenty of sunshine with a light east wind to keep the flies away.

I arrived at Herring Point around 8:30 AM and was somewhat surprised to see the beach almost deserted.  I set up pretty much by myself and using FishBite bloodworms and sand flea baits began to get bites right away.  I caught a couple of small spot and a lady fishing down the beach a ways caught a king and then the action turned off.  No more bites, no more fish.  I stayed around until noon just watching the waves and enjoying the morning.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said a private boat brought in some flounder, but he didn’t know where they were fishing.  The Angler and the Pirate King both had good numbers of kings from Delaware Bay.

Burt at Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em told me he saw a few flounder from the ocean and Indian River Inlet.  There were also tilefish from the canyons.

Old Inlet reported cobia spotted in the inlet, but none caught so far.  Kings have been caught from the beach.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
