WGMD Fishing Report 7-6-19

Friday saw hot and cloudy weather with showers in the afternoon.

The DNREC Police will be out in force for the rest of the weekend as they continue Operation Dry Water.  This is a push to get boat operators who may be under the influence of booze or drugs off the water.  These people are a danger to themselves and everyone else around them so it is to everyone’s advantage to have the police out there looking to remove them from the water.  In this process they will be conducting boat checks so make sure all of your safety equipment is operating correctly.

Had a phone call from my boyhood friend Sunny Crowell.  It seems he took some live spot out to Reef Site 10 where he managed to catch a 16.5 and a 32-inch flounder.  The 32-incher weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces and is, to the best of my knowledge, the largest flounder caught this year in Delaware.

Down in Ocean City my Friends at Fish OC reported that Mike Snedaker caught a 93-pound cobia.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
