WGMD Fishing Report 7-7-19

Hermann-Financial

Saturday was hot and fishing was still pretty good.  Not much change, but the wind is going to move to the north-northeast on Sunday and Monday and that should stir things up.

I stopped by Lewes Harbour Marina on Saturday afternoon and spoke with Captain Vince Kagey off the Miss Kirstin.  He told me he had a good trip to Site 6 on Friday catching flounder and trout with the best action on the change of tide.  John Burkhalter caught a 72.7-pound bluefin tuna at Massey’s Canyon with his parents on board the Reel Chaotic.  The big fish hit a ballyhoo on a Joe Chute lure.  While I was there, the Angler came in with an excellent catch of kings that had Erik busy at the cleaning table.

Lighthouse View Tackle at the Fishing Pier on Cape Henlopen State Park said it was another good day for catching spot on bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms.  A few keeper flounder were caught on live minnows.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em reported bluefin tuna at the inshore lumps and a pick of flounder at the Old Grounds.  The Gale Force continues to catch flounder on his half day trips.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing Report.
