WGMD Fishing Report 8-24-19

Friday was cool and windy.  Saturday and Sunday don’t look too good for open water fishing as the wind will be northeast 15 to 20 and that will kick up some nasty seas.

I did stop by the new location for Ice House Bait and Tackle on southbound Route 1 in the same strip mall where Bill’s Sport Shop was located.  They are still stocking shelves, but are open for business and we wish them the best of luck in their new location.

Tommy at Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid brought in sea bass and ling while the Grizzly had a catch of triggerfish.

Dave at Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park said the spot bit well on high tide, but only short flounder were caught along the pilings.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said blues ran through the inlet on incoming water much to the delight of shore and boat anglers.  Bucktails and metal lures both draw strikes from the bluefish.  Flounder are caught on live spot also from the inlet.
