Trying to dethrone his state record holding father, John Burbage, son Jack, from Ocean View, DE, came short but still made a nice showing catching a 48.3lb cobia using bunker caught with a snag hook.
This 4.8lb and 23 inch flounder was caught by Jen Connell of Clayton, DE using live spot while fishing in the Indian River Inlet

Thursday was a pretty nice day and the weekend is looking good.  No matter where you like to fish or what you like to catch you should be able to get out and give it a try over the next few days.

No change in the leaderboard at the White Marlin Open as only a few boats fished on Wednesday.  Another celebrity joined Michael Jordon as Emeril Lagasse fished from his boat on Wednesday.  Nice thing about fish, they really don’t care who you are.

Captain Brent Wiest ended the day on Tuesday by catching a 7.19-pound flounder as part of a nine-man limit on the Katydid.  The Monday Group on the Katydid went deep dropping and came back from their 15-hour trip with sea bass, red hake, golden and blueline tilefish.  My friend Mike Pizzolato is a member of the Monday Group was kind enough to drop off a beautiful golden tile filet that I had for dinner on Tuesday night.

The Captain Ike out of Indian River Marina had a five person limit of flounder for his family party over ocean structure on Thursday.
