This great catch of mahi, weighing in at 186lbs was brought in by the Double D’s while fishing in the Baltimore Canyon. Pictured are Capt. Dwayne Dodd, Hunter Holland of Frankford, DE, Jom Grohman of Fenwick Island, DE, Amber Counsellor of Smyrna, DE, Cade Grohman of Fenwick Island, DE and Robert St. Jacques of Laurel, DE. I arrived at Indian River Inlet at 5:45 AM Tuesday morning.  I wanted to fish the magic hour between first light and sunrise.

I started with a black Bomber and a black eel imitation teaser.  Switched to a Stingsilver when the lady fishing next to me caught a bluefish on a spoon.  Cast the metal for an hour or more without result before switching to a top-bottom rig baited with FishBite bloodworm and sand flea.  Nothing.  Gave up around 9:30 AM.  Other than the one bluefish, I never saw another fish caught.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina said Sandy Toomey caught a 5.19-pound sheepshead and a 2.45-pound triggerfish on sand fleas at the Outer Wall on Monday.  On Tuesday, J.T. came in from the Washington Canyon with a 44.5-pound golden tilefish and 17 dolphin.

Lighthouse View Tackle on the Fishing Pier at Cape Henlopen State Park told us they saw spot, blues, croaker and two keeper flounder taken off the pier on Tuesday.
