WGMD Fishing Report 9-4-19

Tuesday saw more good fishing weather with fewer boats sailing due to vacations ending and school beginning.

I haven’t had a report from the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park in a few days as their phone was out of service.  I stopped by there this afternoon and got a first hand report that the spot fishing is still good and some big croaker to 15 inches have been caught after dark.

While I was out, I went by Lewes Harbour Marina just as the Katydid was unloading 70 dolphin caught from the ocean.  On Saturday Dennis Reed and Bill Lux fished on the Sea Hunter with Captain Kevin Legates.  They deep-dropped in the canyon catching rosies and golden tilefish.

Janice Dant caught a 20-inch flounder out of 70 feet of water at the Outer Wall.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle weighed in a citation kingfish for Dennis Sanders.  The 1.25-pound king ate a chunk of mullet at the inlet.  The report from the beach was kings and spot on bloodworms or FishBite bloodworms.
