It was hoped that the Woodland Ferry would be open by Friday – but work has been delayed.  DelDOT now says that the Ferry closure will extend into next week due to additional repair work on the engine. It’s hoped the Ferry will reopen on Wednesday, October 16.
Gale warnings remain in effect through Friday for the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. The wind will subside a bit on Saturday, but not much. Seas will drop from 11 to seven feet so I don’t think many folks will venture out on open water. It looks like Monday before we get decent fishing conditions.…

Monday saw small craft advisories up for the ocean and it looks like they will be up for the rest of the week. I called Tom at Lewes Harbour Marina just in case one of the head boats tried the Delaware Bay, but none did. No one answered the phone at Lighthouse View Tackle on…

Saturday was another blow out. I don’t think Sunday will be any better so it looks like either fish from shore or try getting the fall yardwork done. The Delaware Natural Resources and Environmental Control Shoreline and Waterway Management Section will be holding three informational public open house workshops to share information about dredging and…

Friday saw small craft advisories up and it looks like they may remain up until Wednesday. This often happens when the seasons change and we just have to live through the wind and hope it brings some good fall fishing. Shore fishing will be the only option this weekend with Indian River Inlet, the fishing…
